Emilie convinced Ellis that the beach would be good so we were finally on the road by about 9 am when it was already scorching hot.
Rowan napped in Bob for a bit so I went for a quick swim. Saw a puffer fish, a trigger fish and the common sargeant fish. Rowan woke up and proceeded to try to eat sand for the rest of the beach morning. Every once in a while I would take him in for a dip to try to uncoat him. The rest of the time at the beach I spent telling Ellis to put some sunscreen on or get back in the shade (ok - not quite true) I did eventually manage to convince Ellis that he needed sunscreen and Johnny took him for a long walk. In fact, I even saw Ellis dash into the water at one point.
Had one more snorkel, rinsed Rowan and then we all headed home.
Went to a goat farm http://www.surfinggoatdairy.com/
A goat ate Ellis's bag of hay, which caused a meltdown and then we drove home to the varied screams of Rowan.
Thankfully, it was almost happy hour.
Barbecued lamb chops (deelicious) and now the boys are in bed - soon I will be too.
