Surprisingly, Ellis lasted better than he ever has at playgroup. Perhaps it is because Rowan was asleep in his stroller the entire time and Ellis didn't have to be bad to get my attention. He also peed on the toilet there twice. Yay to daycare. I'm seriously considering going back to work as Ellis is a better child at daycare. He listens to his teachers. Erin and Fee.
We got home at noon and I had an afternoon of crafts planned. Sue sent me instructions for an easy one. Take some plasticene (I got modeling clay), some glitter and a clear plastic container. Make some sea creatures, add some glitter - instant aquarium.
Things were going well - I was making some creatures, Ellis was making some creatures. Then it all went to **&#+! I'm not sure what happened. Ellis took his creatures and mashed them all up into a ball. Then he spilled all the glitter all over the table (ok, I should have foreseen that). Then when I started putting the glitter back, he got upset because he wanted to do it and started to flail around sending glitter everywhere. Rowan saw the glitter and was like "paydirt!" and started shoving it into his mouth as fast as he could. I started yelling - as Ellis was getting modeling clay all over the cloth chairs "go wash your hands, go wash your hands!" Cyp decides to call at that point to tell me that they had set up the wrong bike at the bike store.
"Can't deal with that right now!" as I hear Ellis wailing about "my leg! my leg!" He had fallen off his stool while washing his hands and fallen on the open drawer (courtesy of Rowan who inches his way through the apartment, opening every drawer at his level). He was actually bleeding quite a bit. I hate crafts. Another reason to go back to work.
We did finally finish the craft - he spent the rest of the day taking the creatures out (breaking off pieces of them and spreading glitter everywhere). They will probably be in the garbage tomorrow as they are turning into sea creature dust.
Fortunately, the sitters came tonight and we got to go out for Thai in the Valley. Phew.
sounds like another day in paradise
