Driving Mummy

On Friday I drove Ellis and Cyp to school and work respectively. It's not far from our house - 10 minutes maybe, but it made me grumpy. I felt like one of those moms that drive their kids to school (which is what I am). I had hoped to bike Ellis to school in the chariot but I fear I would never make it up the hill back home.
We live really close to the Uni (as noted - about 4 km away) but have I mentioned the traffic lights here? They really are unbelievable. It takes about 10 minutes to navigate Toowong village - we really need to find another way.
I dropped Ellis off at school - he didn't make a fuss at all - just sat down at a table with a game on it and forgot all about me. I got the tour of the school and then went to relieve Cyp of Rowan watching duty so he could go to work.
Came home and Rowan was asleep (it was just after 9 am). He slept till almost noon. I got a lot done. I think almost everything is unpacked and put away (except Cyp's office). For a place with no cupboards, we have done surprisingly well. Note to future guests - your clothes will have to live in your luggage :)
Went back to get Ellis and Cyp at 4:30 - stopped at Woolworths (equivalent to Safeway) where Rowan was ecstatic to be on a bit of an adventure. Should mention is was pouring rain.
Collected Ellis (he had a great day - he was sporting a crown he'd made and a wand) - he seems to like it there, we'll see if he still does on Monday (he now goes Monday and Friday which is not the greatest).
It was Fish Friday so we had Farmed Tasmanian salmon. Is that bad?
