Anyway - Cyp and I were rudely awakened this morning at 5 am by a puking Rowan. Everything he'd eaten the day before came back to visit - and as I had mentioned he'd been eating to make up for lost time. Poor little guy. I crawled into the shower with Rowan while Cyp mopped up. We crashed again on our naked bed.
Do you ever have one of those dreams where someone is watching you? Well -there was. Ellis. He was standing by the bed watching us with his days' clothes in hand. I guess our daily saying "no Wii till you're dressed" has made an impact. He dutifully got dressed, scarfed down some rice bubbles and started playing Wii.
Cyp debated going to work and I advised him to go otherwise I would press him into service. After he left I felt at a loss - I had originally planned a playdate and was totally looking forward to - made cookies and everything. The day now stretched out ahead of us. I decided we should head to the library for storytime (I don't think Rowan could puke again - there is nothing left) and as it was sunny today I decided to walk so he and Ellis could get some fresh air.
Storytime was much better today - better delivery, better stories. Today's theme was bunnies. One about Emily and her bunny named Stanley (a good one), one about the Knuffle Bunny and one about the Tortoise and the Hare - the rematch. After the stories, the kids got to make bunny ears which Ellis proudly wore the whole way home.
As we were leaving I called Cyp (can't remember why) and it turns out he was home. He'd snuck into the guest room - he asked where I was (as the car was here, he just assumed that I was here). I love it when he does that - pretends to go to work and the sneaks into a room to sleep away. BUM!
I guess Ellis is feeling neglected as he took a pen and drew all over my tablecloth and placemat while I was making my lunch. Cyp said "that's ok, it water soluble" and then he continued to read more - "what does indelible on cloth mean?"
So - now I'm grumpy. Cyp tried to sneak back to work, but I told him to stay and play with Ellis as I was done. I feel a touch of the stomach flu coming on myself....
