Chinese Dinner

Granita took Cyp and me out for dinner on Thursday night. She had heard from her chinese friends that she needed to try crab or lobster here. Apparently it is good. So we decided to try out Chinatown - last time Anita and I went we had noted the Enjoy Inn - it had lots of good reviews pasted up in the window. Cyp made a reservation but we hummed and hawed about whether we should go there as I was worried about parking. In the end we decided to go - I figured we'd find something. We ended up parking in New Farm and hiking back to the Valley - I was worried about Granita as she had had a pretty tiring day minding the kids at the beach and playground but when we got there she said it hadn't seemed that far of a walk.
We ended up ordering Mud crab - we asked the server where it was from and she said "Queensland."
"where abouts?" we asked.
"Darwin" she said.
Uh - Darwin is in the Northern Territory but we didn't bother to correct her. She was very friendly - originally from Canton - she could tell Anita was either from the US or Canada - (she didn't tell us how she deduced this) but that is where her deduction skills ended. She told Anita that her daughter (me) looked European.
"Are you sure she didn't mean daughter in law?" I asked Anita later.
"nope - she thought you were my daughter."
"See - I told you I have slanty eyes." (we've been arguing about where Rowan's
eyes come from). I wonder who she thought Cyp was. Funny.
Anyway- the crab was delicious - it was a good time of year to get it apparently- they are fat right now.
That is something Cyp and I would likely never order on our own - who knew that the crab was good here? It was fun.
Afterwards we stopped at Shlix - best ice cream I think I've had in a while, but expenisve - $4.50 for a single.
We rented a movie on the way home, but didn't manage to watch it. We all passed 0ut at about 10. We had both sitters this week. I think Hannah did not want to relive the experience from two weeks prior when both Ellis and Rowan had pooped in their nappies (and she was on her own). When we got back - she was stuck to the couch with Rowan passed out on her (he only seems to sleep on her - he's still highly suspicious of Elle - he's kinda like a dog that way - he can sense fear).
