Monday Errands

On Monday I dragged Granita to a new mall. On the way we stopped at First Choice Liquors - always feel a bit funny showing up at the liquor store at 9 am. I randomly picked my 6 bottles and was on the way to the cash register when a staff person offered to help. Turns out they had a special on Montana and Parsons Paddock - buy 6, get 6 free. Save $80 - Ok - I like to save money, so I bought them. Works out to $7.50 per bottle. Luckily they are both good - the Parsons Paddock (Shiraz) is from the McClaren Vale (which is someplace in Australia - there are a lot of wines from there). Ok - I looked it up - it's in Southern Australia http://www.mclarenvale.info/and the other one is Montana Wine - a Pinot Noir - largest winemaker in New Zealand. I've left off buying the cleanskins for now as Ted our landlord/neighbour (who knows his wine) says they use more preservatives in the cleanskins. I was also disappointed in the $4 and $5 cleanskins I picked up last time. Not as good. I had left Granita and Rowan in the car -the salesperson helped me carry my haul to the car and again my feelings of bad mummy resurfaced.
Our next stop was Mt. Ommaney (we were checking out the shopping just off the Western Freeway which is the Freeway we live by). Mt. Ommaney may be my new shopping destination - they have all the stores you need - Target, Coles, Aldi (closest thing to Costco that I have found), Kmart, library etc. plus tons of parking. I've turned into a mall rat.
We picked up some pants for Ellis at Aldi (which i may have to try hemming - hmm) and some Mr. Happy pjs at Target. Unfortunately, the largest size they had was size 2, but I had to get them - they were Mr. Happy. They fit - but they are more like knickers than pants. Back to the floods for Ellis.
Rowan ran out of patience so we let him walk for a while. He is mostly good at following, but Granita finds him exhausting - she worries about him falling and taking people out - I've noticed he actually follows me better than Ellis ever did (or I've just gotten more relaxed about things). Anyway - if we don't give him enough exercise he gets very annoyed. He is so like a dog.
I can't remember what we did the rest of the day. Hmm. Must try to do a better job of keeping up with the blog. Hey that rhymes - blog and dog. We are into rhyming right now - did you know that sop and glop rhymes?
