Mt Cootha

On Wednesday we were back to our routine so went to swimming lessons. Ellis had two girls join his lesson - they are normally in the class just before his, but they got stuck in traffic. I was happy as Rowan's teacher was sick and we got his old teacher again (I like her better). I should sign the kids up for swimming everyday - maybe I will do two lessons per week next semester as it totally wipes them out for the day. Rowan passed out on the home and didn't wake up upon transfer!
It was a good opportunity for me to take the rental car back - after I dropped it off and was heading for the city cat I felt like I was missing something - oh ya, the kids. I thought about taking a runner....it felt weird walking downtown without any hindrances.
I was exhausted when I got home - just in time - Rowan and Granita greeted me at the door. He had just woken up.
We puttered around for a while and then I decided we really had to drive up Mt. Cootha - it's our closest tourist site yet we haven't been up it yet and Granita leaves in a few days!
The city looks more impressive during the day but we didn't really get to enjoy the view - Rowan is a running maniac. When Susie found out I was having a boy (Ellis) she told me to get my running shoes ready. I never felt that I had to do more running than some moms I know that have girls. I think Rowan is different. Perhaps he is trying to burn off his milk belly. He ran round and round up and down. He screamed bloody murder when I put him back in the car. As I was driving back down the mountain Granita said "are you in the right lane?"
"uh -right." I moved to the correct lane. The screaming from the back had distracted me and I had reverted to my old ways. Good thing someone was paying attention and that no one was driving up the mountain.
We went to the number garden at the Bot Garden next. Can you see the lizard in love with giant statue lizard? My iphone doesn't have a zoom, so it is hard to see him. He was still there on a second tour of the number garden so he was really infatuated.
Rowan got furious again when we put him in the car for the trip home - sigh. I really wish he wouldn't enter this difficult stage.
