Tuesday - No Picture Day

This morning we got our groceries. It was great! It was a bit of a pain getting the order in, but now that I have a standard order, I can just add or delete items every week and it only costs $5 for a delivery.

I tried to tip the delivery guy, but he got kinda offended. "What's that?" he asked as I tried to tip him. "Tip" I replied.

He squirmed away - "no thanks - it's my job"

I like the fact that the prices you see here are what you pay. They include the 10% GST (maybe it's included because 10% is painful) and you don't have to tip!

I then sat around the rest of the morning trying to convince Ellis to do something. I need a new system. Should I revert to my standard dictator mode? It doesn't seem to work.

We finally went out at around noon - I convinced him by telling him we were going to the store to get him a new potty, bubbles and a cheese grater

He took charge of the go card and off we went on the ferry.

After we got off, we hiked through downtown to find Target. I went the wrong way and had to pull out Cyp's iphone. On the way, we passed BWS and I went in to replenish our wine supplies. Wine is almost as cheap here as Hawaii. I also discovered cheaper gin. BWS is Ellis's new favourite store as he got a balloon. I hate to tell him it was a special day (Melbourne Cup) and that is why there were balloons. A holiday cause there's a horse race. Weird. Not a holiday in Brisbane, but it sure seemed like it. Office buildings looked dead and most pubs were full.

We found target and found that they were having 20% off on kids stuff. It was Ellis's lucky day. One potty, bubbles and toys for all later, we headed to checkout. Do you deliver? I asked. Nope, but we sell these big bags for $2.

Big bags no kidding. It was as big as my stroller.

I decided to look into Myer (kinda like the Bay) for some kitchen supplies.

Did I tell you the people are friendly here? The woman who helped us in Myer took one look at Rowan and fell in love with him I think. She didn't even seem to mind that Ellis was throwing and retrieving his balloon around the glassware.

One cheese grater later, we were on our way again.

"do you still want to go to the waterpark?" I asked.

"no" said Ellis

phew. Wasn't sure how I was going to handle stroller, bag and kids.

We walked back to the ferry and then home. Almost dumped Rowan on the ferry ramp to save Ellis's balloon. The tide had gone out and ramp was much steeper than before. That got a few gasps. Rowan almost went sailing down the ramp and into the river. heh.

Got back and had about 20 minutes of peace after new toys were unwrapped, but they both got bored quickly. Sigh.

Waited for Cyp to get home (6:30) while Ellis got progressively more whiny.

"I'm hungreeeeeeeeee"

May have to rethink waiting for Cyp to come home for dinner.
