What Kind of Car Should We Buy

This is a test to see if anyone is reading, but I also do need help as cannot make my own decision

Ok - Mazda 3 sport (pains me as will have to pay about $6K more than we got for our car and it still won't have leather)

Mitsubishi Lancer (gets good reviews in Top Gear)

Subaru Outback (Top Gear likes it better than the Forester)

Toyota Corolla Ascent (looks like a Mazda 3 Sport - slightly smaller, therefore, slightly greener)

Ford Mondeo - per Top Gear (I think Top Gear is a brit show - but it could be Aussie - anyway, it's now part of my viewing repetoire) "the Mondeo is the only recent new car that Hammond, May and I (Clarkson) all agree is excellent. That's why it was, without question, our choice for car of the year (in 2007). Oh wait, except for the Subaru Outback."

  1. toyota...only because of it's name and long standing reputation as a car builder...does the ascent equate to a NA name...how long has the model been on the market.

why did Tracey sell her Subaru?....no guts?

Does the Ascent have a safety rating...think of resale

  3. Global 11 reported on crash tests yesterday and the toyota (camry) didn't have enough roof strength: only the subaru passed all tests (side, rear, front and roof) Consumer Reports is hot on Ford these days: reliable and less expensive than imports but I don't know about crash tests especially for this model as it's not in my book! Don't read Lemon Aid or you'll never buy anything. I agree with woodnut: how much room is inside for all your stuff (and your new stroller!)?
