Diverging Gs

I didn't sleep again on Wednesday night. I think I'm getting sick again. The one bright spot was that Cyp had taped lost, so I could get up at 4 am to watch it. Yay. It was a good one this week.
I turn into extreme grump when I don't get enough sleep so things did not look good for Thursday. G & G had originally planned on having the ultimate tourist day (bus to train station, train to ferry, ferry to island, bus to beach) but it had poured overnight and it didn't look like it was going to clear up so they decided it would probably not be the best to spend all that time and money to get to a beach during a thunderstorm.
Dad had his heart set on getting away I think so he decided to take a tourist drive. He doesn't seem to have any problems with driving on the left. Mom is counting the number of days she has with the kids so sent dad off on his own. She opted to come to swimming lessons instead.
for some reason, everything seemed to be moving in slow motion for me - I felt like I was going going going, but nothing was happening. Our one goal was to take the boys for a walk before swim lessons so Rowan would nap. Finally, by 9:40 we were out the door (I'd been up since 6 am and had not even managed a shower - which is not really necessary on swim lesson day, but still...). We walked to the mailbox to post some letters and then I felt like being a martyr so we walked up Bywong and then back down it. Mom offered to hold the stroller with me, but I was stubborn and refused. I should have let her though - it was tough. I seriously didn't know if I would make it. Fortunately we did. Didn't lose any kids - whew. I don't need to challenge myself that way again.

We accomplished our goal and got Rowan to sleep, but he woke up as soon as I put him in the car - darn! Well, he slept for maybe 30 minutes - at least he didn't fall asleep in the car on the way to swimming lessons, which is never good.

He was a star for swimming - it's the last one for the term and he's finally showing what a happy guy he is in the pool. When Gerriann says - head down and kicking, Rowan puts his head down and she throws him to me under water. It's really quite cool. Ellis was a bit of a monkey this lesson and was throwing all the toys at the side of the pool into the pool - not the best way to end off lessons but oh well.

Afterwards we went home to find dad worried about what he done to my phone that I'd let him use on his mini road trip. Cyp had sent him a message - thinking I had my phone. Dad texted him back and got a note saying that he was out of Vodaphone's area of coverage so he was roaming on Telstra. He then got another text from Vodaphone that said they had processed $70 successfully. This had him in a panic that he had just sent a $70 text. I reassured him when I got home that it was just a coincidence. Vodaphone was letting me know that they had received my bill payment. I should have told him he owed me $70 :)

After lunch mom and dad took Ellis back to the Bot garden (they found a cool kid area) and I madly dashed around Toowong Village to find easter baskets. Of course I ended up buying more chocolate too. Another thing that is super expensive here!
