Ellis's Favourite Place - Science Centre

I forgot to blog about the Thursday we spent at the Science Centre before we went on our trip. It seems so long ago. We decided to take Ellis to his favourite place. This time we decided to drive as it is just easier and by the time we all take City Cat, it's the same price as parking. Grandma just has to squish herself into the back seat of the car - fortunately, it's only about 10 minutes to the Science Centre. I think Grandma Anita will fit better. The kids like having someone sit between them - unfortunately, G. Doreen started a game with Rowan - he tries to bite her finger and she laughs and says "no biting." He thinks it is hilarious and tries to bite everyone now. When he was strapped to my back the other day on one of our walks, he was biting my back and then laughing hysterically as I writhed around to get away from his teeth.

Anyway - we drove, but it took us so long to get ready in the morning that by the time we got there, it was lunch time. So - we went and had lunch at the State Library - where yet again I saw two moms from our Wednesday playgroup. After lunch we decided it didn't make sense for us all to pay to go into Science Centre so I took Ellis and mom and dad took Rowan off to the free museum.

Ellis was in heaven - he loves Science Centre - I just made sure to purel his hands every time he touched something. From the pictures above you'll see that he really gets into it - he crawled right up onto the gear table and there he is trying to smile after getting the silver ball into the centre of the maze (ok - he had quite a bit of help from mummy - but we were proud of ourselves as everyone else gave up - I guess they got tired of trying to block Ellis from poking the buttons). Anyway - I said "smile" and he had to use his hands to try to get his mouth into the smile position - such a serious guy.

After we'd been there for what seemed like ages, I gave him the 10 minute warning - he then ran around like a maniac making sure he had at least touched every exhibit. After he did that, he just ran out the door (he'd built up his momentum). He didn't even check to see if I was following - out he went and he kept on running. It was kinda bizarre.

We found Grandma, Grandpa and Rowan and then we all went on the wheel. It was a great day to do it - sunny and clear.

After that we headed home, stocked up on supplies for the trip, had dinner and crashed.
