This morning we got off to quite a slow start - Ellis slept in till 9:00 (gee I wonder why - it appears we will have a repeat tomorrow as he is still fiddling around in his room as I write this and it's 9 pm). It was the Coles delivery that woke him up. Fortunately, the delivery was early as Cyp called just after that to say they were catching an early flight and would be there two hours earlier than expected. I rushed around a bit doing last minute tidy and putting G. Anita's bed back together and a final spider check. Ellis spent the time doing art shots of the computer with my iphone. Then we were off.
"where's the thing that tells you where the airport is?" asked Ellis.
Yup - I'm going GPS free - woo hoo.
I decided to skip parking and we drove around a few times (Rowan was asleep) and after about 3 texts and two phone calls Anita and Cyp found us. Ellis never missed a beat and started talking to G. Anita like he saw her yesterday and even Rowan gave her one "who are you again?" look but was then fine and gave her sly smiles the rest of the way home. I tried to point out Brisbane landmarks but she was engrossed in the grandkids.
Cyp mentioned he wanted to go work so we decided to drive him (he and Anita brought the rain with them it seems). Anita and I took the kids for a walk to the lake at the Uni to check out the ducks (Duh! as Rowan says) and the eels, turtles and moor hens got some of our precious cheerios. We then took the kids to the grand court so Rowan could have some grass to wipe out on. As we sat there, the thunder started rumbling and I figured we should start moving again. We made it back to our car in the almost nick of time and went to fetch Cyp - it was pouring! One veggie box pickup later and we were home.
This week's veggie box excitement includes a vanilla bean and a custard apple. Hmm. What shall we make - our flyer suggested vanilla bean infused vodka, but I'm not sure.
We whipped up chicken curry to use up some of our basil and then bedtime routine began. Ellis oddly skipped the bath - perhaps because as I was getting Rowan ready for the bath, a rogue poopy diaper surfaced - poo was flying. I'm not sure Ellis wanted to share with Mr. poopy butt (I did wipe him). Ellis was extremely curious to see Rowan's poo - corn and carrots.
"how come his poo is his dinner?"
I won't bother with my explanation - you all know.
Ellis may have also wanted to get right to storytime featuring G. Anita - that could be the other reason for the skipped bath.
Cyp fell asleep on the floor at 7:30 and Anita followed shortly thereafter.
I could hear noises coming from Ellis's room and something didn't smell so good.
"I poohed mummy."
WHAT?
Cyp! - darn Cyp - he was comatose. I had to do it.
"I want to see!! - is that my dinner?"
yah - you can see it in your potty you gross child. Goodnight.
