Winter

I'm afraid of winter - will we ever get warm? It was overcast on Sunday and Monday so the house did not heat up at all. Out came the down sleeping bags. I'm not sure - but maybe that is why Ellis was such a rat on Sunday - perhaps he had to expend too much energy just keeping warm. We started out ok - Cyp and Ellis headed off to the store to get supplies to make gingerbread men. Ellis and I made the dough and had put it in the fridge to cool (didn't really need to do this I think). We were then running around to get things ready for the zoo - when Ellis piped up from the living room. "I poohed." Huh? "I poohed in my underwear." Yup, a big one.
This just puts mummy over the edge - I ordered him to his room for a nap and then I headed out the door to the park with Rowan.
"he's just three, he's just three." I repeated to myself.
Rowan and I had a good time at the park but decided that people in our neighbourhood are more snooty than elsewhere - no one would look or smile at me. Weird as before now I've found people to be more friendly.
Afterwards I walked through the neighbourhood and found another park near our house - in fact I found better route home without the extreme hills. Now that it is cooler, it is much easier to walk places and explore the hood a bit.
Cyp texted me while I was out - "Ellis is still sleeping?"
"huh?" surprised again. He actually went to sleep! When I got home he was still asleep on the floor under his carpet.
I think I've decided he's going through a poo stage right now - he seems oddly curious about it. I hope he gets over it quick.

On Monday Ellis had school - I dropped him off then came home and tried to do some cleaning etc. Before long I was freezing - Anita and I decided to go for a drive to warm up and stop the continuous nasal drip. We drove up to Mount Glorious (where dad had gone on his solo adventure). It was a nice drive and we found a good walk for Anita in the rainforest - 2 km which turns out to be her limit. We got back just in time to pick up Ellis and Cyp. Used up the rest of our veggie box (some of those small eggplants had been hiding deep down in the veggie crisper - we got more today - sigh - now what??
