You really need a car to get around this neighborhood. On Wednesday I decided to drive us to New Farm for the first day of playgroup. It was so much easier driving! We got there in heaps of time - it felt decadent. On the way, Ellis asked if we were going to our Kangaroo home (he knows the route). "No, we don't live there anymore...., we'll just drive by it on the way to New Farm." Poor little guy - all these changes. He doesn't like change. Ellis discovered the trampoline this time and spent the entire time managing who got to go on and off. There was a new group of babies - Rowan observed them just learning to walk and today he seemed to grasp the concept of his walker. It's amazing - I really think he picks things up from the other babies.
On the way home we stopped at our local library in Toowong Village - there's an oxymoron. Toowong Village is a rather large building that you can see from miles away. It contains a train station, Kmart, David Jones (like the Bay), Coles (like Safeway) etc. It's rather large. I think I've noted before that it makes me grumpy when we have to drive around it to get to the Uni. Rowan had fallen asleep and I hadn't brought a stroller, so I lugged him through the mall to the library. When we got there we headed to the kids area where I plopped him down on some big squishy pillows. He slept through the Velveteen Rabbit (I never realized what a long story that is). He eventually woke up and started pulling all the books off the shelves so we had to leave. I grabbed a book for me as we ran for the checkout where again I had to put Rowan down. He started crawling away rapidly until a librarian noticed him and picked him up and held him while I checked our books out.
We stopped at Coles on our way out (mainly so I could put Rowan in a trolley - shopping cart) where I picked up a ham so I could make better beans and rice (which Cyp is always requesting).
We then headed home and I made beans and rice while Ellis played Wii - I cut him off after 30 min as it just seemed wrong. Not sure what we did the rest of the day - when you just sit in a room and play, the days seem to blur into each other.
