Mundane Things

On Wednesday we went to playgroup in New Farm. There were not too many people there as it had really rained the day before and was threatening again (and most of the kids like to play outside - not Ellis though). Tanya, Leah and Graham were not there - Graham now has Kindy on alternating Wednesdays, which is too bad as Ellis missed them but it forced me to chat with other moms. I cannot leave the room these days without Rowan - he immediately starts crying. So Ellis is on his own. He seems to attract girls, which is kinda funny. He doesn't do what other kids are doing - doesn't play with the toys in the sandpit, doesn't play on the playground equipment. He climbs the bread oven that they have outside and dances around on a little platform. Or he plays with the baby toys. He likes to come inside and taunt the babies a bit. Fortunately on Wednesday the new coordinator (who being new is very keen) made a big batch of playdough which Ellis also loves.
Afterwards we went to New Farm park with a couple of the American moms - it was more of a swamp though and a big part of it is under construction so we didn't last long. We came home and made cookies, played Wii oh and talked to Anna and Hamid. That was good. Ellis seems happier these days (and is slightly more cooperative). He keeps surprising me - I'm expecting battles and I don't get any!
