The Mall

On Monday I had my second experience with Indooropilly Mall. It is now only about 5 minutes from us - it is huge. I dropped Ellis and Cyp off at school and then I headed there with Rowan. He took one look at the overhead florescent lighting and promptly fell asleep. Wish I could have. I first went to Kmart. My ultimate destination was Target (which was having a sale on a few things I wanted), but I thought I should check prices. So I did. They seemed high to me - so off I went to Target.
I wandered about a mile looking for a lift, followed the signs to no avail and then walked a mile back to the moving sidewalk. I wasn't sure if I should use this with a stroller, but as no lift could be found down we went.
Of course things were more at Target (even on sale), but not that much more so I decided what the heck - I don't feel like going back to Kmart - I'll know for next time. I think some of the things may have been cheaper so perhaps it evened out.
I was a little shocked at the final bill, but it was all things we needed so I just shrugged and thought - oh well. I didn't fancy carting all the stuff back through the mall with me (I had some groceries to get) so I said I would pick them up later at parcel pickup. This was a new concept for me. They take your purchases to the loading bay and you can swing around later and get them with your car. The staffperson said it was easy to locate.
About an hour later (had to buy milk and find the car again), I was ready to go to parcel pickup. Well, I drove around that mall - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indooroopilly_Shopping_Centre and through numerous parkades - saw a police incident and finally found the Target Parcel Pickup. I really know the ins and outs of that mall now.
I got home only to look at my bill to find I had spent $5o on a power bar - $50! The shelf had said $14.99 and I thought that was a little pricey, but I was getting one with surge protection. Darn - I had asked about everything else but hadn't checked the power bar price. So, the rest of the day I contemplated braving the darn mall again to take it back and decided I would drag Cyp and everyone else with me after I had picked them up at work/school.
So, Cyp and Ellis collected, off we set - I drove like a madwoman, parked in the perfect spot and took back the powerbar. Then I went next door to Crazy Clarks and picked up one for 7.99 with surge protection.
Ran back to the car and drove like a madwoman home. Both kids were going - "whoa!" as we went up and down hills, around corners.
When we got home - I said to Cyp: "you impressed with my driving and navigation skills?"
He was - I will do anything in my power to find the quickest way out of that evil mall place.
